I feel so terrible, so guilty

That I don’t write for you.

I hope that you’re not hurt

By my lack of poetry

For you.

You need to know that every time I think of you

My heart beats stronger

You need to know that when I set my pen to paper

It trembles.

You need to know that when I say you’re everything;

That I love you to the very bottom of my heart and soul,

I mean so much more.

But that’s all words allow.

I try so hard to think

A way I can show you what lies inside me

For you.

But I can’t.

Every time you smile brightens my day

And every time we kiss my world is a better place

But I mean so much more.
