The Creatures Are Out Tonight

A unicorn sprints through thick forest trees,
A mermaid swims in vast and stormy seas,

The creatures are out tonight,
Out tonight, no longer out of sight,

The werewolf howls at the moon,
The banshee screams, a death is coming soon,

The dragons are out tonight,
Breathing their fire breath that lights up the night,

The Sphinx asks her questions of wonder,
The three-headed dog Cerberus guards the world that lies under,

The Phoenix is out tonight,
Spreading its wings as it takes flight,

Trolls dig happily away at the ground below,
While hordes of little fairies dance merrily as they glow,

The basilisk is out tonight,
Seeing with its deadly sight,

Wood Nymphs bless their trees,
Elfs that only come up to a human's knee,

The vampires are roaming tonight,
Cowering away from morning's light.
