So. This is a poem I wrote for a creative writing assignment. But, then again, aren't they all? So anyway. Ignore the intense failosity of it. I like it anyway. 'Course, I like most of my fail poetry. Enjoy.
O Captain, My Captain
It happened on one sunny day
Or maybe it was raining
I don’t remember, so I cannot say
But I shall go on explaining
-
It was dark and it was cold
But I had a sweatshirt on
…I suppose that news was old,
But I felt it pertinent to mentiON.
-
I was sitting in a comfy seat
When suddenly, I saw you
I even took time out to not eat
And the times that happens are really very few.
-
I am trying hard to rhyme, my love
I really, really am.
I have to get this out with a shove
I really dislike ham.
-
AND I’M SURE THAT YOU DO, TOO
Which is why it was totally relevANT
JUST LIKE WHEN ELIZABETH ATE THAT PIG OOO
And then spazzed like I do when I see an ant.
-
Let me tell you of my love, though
I’ve been trying to do so for five stanzas
Although, I fear I soon must go
And leave this C.W. bonanza
-
But I will be back soon, my darling
So don’t you even fret
I love more than Davy Jones loves snarling
On that you can bet.
-
So, dear Jack, I leave you here
To see you in a bit
I shall not leave you any beer
For I wish for you to be sober when next together we sit.
