Sinner’s Forgiveness

I awoke to white wings,

Fluttering in my head.

Angels touching softly,

Whispering sweet things

To my empty shell.

“What do you want from me?!” I cried to the heavens.

Demons came to ravish--

Our souls are open season.

The hunters rape the spirit,

Innocence…long lost.

Blade wings surround me.

“Leave me be!” I proclaim.

I am left with nothing.

A painful bliss…

No voice in Death’s song.

Not a hymn to be heard.

I’d not spoke the word.

“Forgive me! Take me, Light! The Dark is cold,” I sobbed.

Sleep was my rescuer.

Forever rest…

To dream of light coming

To vanquish my fears…

Cleanse my soul of black.
