I pray to the God I don’t believe in

That’s just how desperate I’ve become

I pray blindly to this One above

To help the pain to numb.

I pray to make this hurt to cease

I pray to make it all go away

I pray to never think of him again

Not on a single day.

I pray to heal my heart

To rid it of its ache

I pray to make it strong

So that it doesn’t ever break.

I pray to chase these tears

To make them simply leave

I pray to make this smile

One that doesn’t deceive.

I pray for peace of mind

For the serenity God can give

I pray for the power to let go

Just so I can live.
