Sunrise/Sunset

---

The sun begins to rise

And dawns a day so new

Dim light reaching over

And glowing right on through.

These golden rays so naive

Do bring such untainted joy

Swift on morning’s wings

With emotions that do decoy.

But the sun’s drifting higher

As morning gives way to day

Shedding light on mystery and secrets

And a heart that begins to stray.

The sun’s hanging high now

And the light begins to burn

Stinging and seething so horribly

That the world doesn’t seem to turn.

But life does go on

Though the hurt may disavow

And, look here!

The sun is setting now.
