You cycled through your reports
like icicles dance with snowflakes
on a brisk fall morning.
(Without paying much attention.)

You touched down on some politics
at the water cooler with a colleague.
Touchdown! Just like the pros,
(another seven points on the scoreboards.)

You called down a Taxi
remembering the call from an IRS employee
eager to tax another American citizen.
(Yellow bugs that always find you in the end.)

You watched as some poor guy drove you home
like homer drove his epics.
Blind, even mad, but always passionate.
(you’ve never cared for literature.)

And now,
with another day behind you,
you collapse.
(No clever similes for this one folks.)
