You told me love hurt, and I laughed. Now I believe you. But you know what else hurts? Neglect. Abandonment.
I loved you. I was your faithful puppy. You threw me a stick, or a bone, I would fetch. You told me to jump; I would ask you how high. But you shunned me. You used me, played with me, then cast me aside. I was your toy, and you tired of me. I waited for you, though. Waited for your return like the lovesick fool that I was. But you didn’t come back. And you mocked me. Love hurts.
I’m stronger, now. I was a fool, now a woman. And you came back. Crawling back like the fool that you are. Idiot. Did you think I still loved you? You tired of your other toys. People started seeing through you. No-one wants you. You came to me, then, and I laughed. Fool. You told me once that love hurt. But you didn’t know how much. Now you do. So does neglect, and abandonment.
