Pursuit of Happiness

Well I sit in the old rocking chair,

and watch the stars stare down at me,

as they give off just a little too much light.

And we've had our

"pursuit of happiness"

but haven't found it.

We've chased down everything on this earth,

but there's still a lonely spot lurking inside.

That's when you came along,

I think I've found my happiness,

but all I get is a glance,

maybe a smile.

I've seen the look on your face

when you stare at her,

it mirrors the one on mine as I gaze at you,

and then I realize,

my happiness with you will never be.
