The end of one world means the birth of another

Long ago, there was a planet known to all of its inhabitants as Earth. For many thousands of years the planet flourished, with all the inhabitants living in harmony with each other in the circle that is known as the food chain. But there was one Race that yearned to rise above all. It was known as Man, and it was this race that was responsible for the downfall of this planet.

They dominated the planet, building homes and villages all over the surface. They depleted the recourses, poisoned the air and waters, and preyed on other Races to such an extent that many of them died off, never to be seen again. The creator of this planet, known as The Unknown, watched what was happening to earth with worry.

After years and years of ravaging the planet, Man had done so much to the planet of Earth that only a few other Races besides them remained. These Races were the predators, and only those which Man was unable to track and kill. By this time, the waters of the planet were nothing but harmful sludge, undrinkable. The landscape was barren, with no plant life to be found. And it had become evident that if something was not done, the airs of the planet would soon be nothing but noxious gases. But Man would never get a chance to fix what they’d broken.

Because Man had killed off most of the Races of Earth, the remaining Races – all Predatory – were left with nothing to feed on but Man itself. Man soon realized that the old ways of killing other Races would not work on these predators, because they had adapted to the new, harsher environment. They had become smarter, learning how to avoid the watchful mechanical eye’s that Man had set around they’re villages.

They would hunt at night, attacking Man when they were sleeping soundly. And when Man began to patrol their homes at night and sleep during the daylight hours, the predatory Races would begin to hunt in the time of the sun. This went on for quite some time, until Man was no longer the dominant Race of earth. For a while, it seemed that this new way of life would be permanent for the planet known as Earth...until the last grain of rice tipped the scale.

The last damage of Man had been put into action long before they’d realized they’re wrong-doings, and the air was now turning poisonous. It affected the Predatory Races first; and for a short while, Man thought that they would be able to live without the fear of the predators hunting their loved ones, for they didn’t know why the predators had been dieing off. Then Man began to get sick as well, slowly dieing of the poisons that they themselves had put into the very air that they had to breathe. And The Unknown continued to watch.

At last, the planet known as Earth was nothing more than barren wastelands, oceans of sludge, and a poisonous atmosphere. Nothing resided on this planet.

It wasn’t long before The Unknown had decided to rebuild the planet known as Earth. Different Races would be created; and though some of them would perhaps resembled the lost Races of Earth, all would be different. They would be able to speak, as Man had, and would possess the same intelligence that Man had. Why do all this? Because The Unknown had no intention of placing Man back on this planet. The Unknown had no desire to watch the world be reduced to rubble once more.

The planet was too far gone to repair completely, large chunks of the Earth needed to be entirely removed. When all the lost pieces of Earth was gone, and The Unknown had shaped the newly forming planet back into a sphere, there was not enough room to place as many territories as there had been on Earth. Instead, The Unknown was only able to place three spots of dry land. One at the Northern most point of the planet, which would be known as The Boreal Land. There would only be one territory on Boreal, and it was called the Arctic Trelishar.

There was then a short span of ocean, for the next span of dry land would need to be in the warmer regions. This dry land would be known as The Equidistant Land. This land would consist of three territories. The Forest of Acerio, The Shores of Irnelia, and the Rainforests of Arshinar.

Then there was another span of ocean, equaling the distance between Boreal and Equidistant. The third land was placed on the Southernmost point of the planet, and would be known as The Finis Land. Here, like on Boreal, there would only be one territory. This territory was called the Antarctic Leshtirar.

The planet was small, but The Unknown was happy with it. He named the new planet Lavation, for it was the product of the re-birth of old world that had been known as Earth.

The Unknown feared that because he would not be able to interact directly with the inhabitants of this new world, that it too would meet a horrible destruction. And so, The Unknown created a creature that was called an Etherial, and the Etherial would govern The Lands of Lavation for The Unknown. The Etherial was given no name, and so the inhabitants of Lavation would come to know her as The Nameless One.

The Unknown’s plan went sour, for The Nameless One had – from the moment she was created – not wanted to do what The Unknown had told her to do. All the time that The Nameless One had spent on Lavation she spent meditating, concentrating so that she was able to bury that which was good in her soul. Once The Nameless One had finished his task, she turned on Lavation, wishing to wreak havoc and chaos amongst the Races. The Unknown saw what The Nameless One was doing, and became angry.

Knowing that there was no way to force The Nameless One to change her ways and do that which she had been put on Lavation to do, The Unknown turned to a different route of action. The Unknown reached into the soul of The Nameless one, taking out that which had been buried – the good. The good was formed into another Etherial; and since this new Etherial was made out of the pure goodness of The Nameless One’s soul, he could do no wrong. The new Etherial was named Destiny. With only half a soul, The Nameless One could no longer go on. She perished, turning into nothing more than a pile of ash. Though there was a yearning to make there be ultimate peace on Lavation, The Unknown was wise, and knew that with the good there was a need for wrong to balance it out. And so, from the ashes of The Nameless one and the other half of her soul, The Unknown created a third Etherial. This Etherial was made out of the pure hate of The Nameless One’s soul, and was called Fate.

Fate didn’t leave Lavation when Destiny arrived; the two became rivals, each governing The Lands of Lavation in their own way. The Races of Lavation called the two Etherials brothers; and now, with Destiny on Lavation to keep Fate in check, The Unknown recessed into the background as had been done on Earth, to watch as the planet Lavation existed.
