Gaming Until the Mind Bleeds

The dull electric glow of the television screen

Is all that he has really seen.

It comes along with a lack of life

Without a job and without a wife.

Hundreds of videogames displayed in towers.

Each one won after many hours

Of lost humanity

As he gets closer and closer to the brink of insanity.

His job is located on the corner of Long and Moore

In a (surprise!) videogame store

Where he will mostly game and play

While wasting more of his day away.

Buttons A and B have become imprinted on his fingertips,

And the word “Die” is forever poised on his lips

As he fills another alien full of lead

While beating him with a pipe until he is dead.

The heads of his enemies he takes as prizes.

He’s got many of different shapes, species, and sizes.

They are all from many a different battle and tug

That have all occurred on his living room rug.

His videogame world is real to him,

And the outside world is simply the whim.
