I write a poem
From my soul
And like a fool I post it here
For the world to read my thoughts.
Yes, my God, I am hopeless.
To click Submit is to spend an eternity waiting
For a wayward reader to come my way.
I’m a gambler with remote chances
Of actually winning something.
More often than not I leave,
Disappointed.

In all honesty,
I think it is sometimes a thankless job.
To write IS to be disappointed…
But to write is to live.
To express.
So I beg of the reader:
Do not let this muse die,
For should I be left standing alone without inspiration,
I would fear for my soul
And for my sanity.
