I’m letting go of you today

Letting you fly free so I can say

I’ll miss you and still love you

I know you need something new

And I wish that I could still be in your life

Be the one to end your strife

And yet there is someone better

Who makes your cheeks go redder

A thousand tear filled nights

This is what it feels like

To give your heart away

And only let it decay

Because I was not enough

Only making things spread out and rough

Seeing you so happy nowadays

Makes me see our separate ways

I hope this isn’t the end

And at least can still be your friend

Maybe I couldn’t make you the happiest

Or make you feel on top of the world as I would’ve guessed

Only knowing you’re euphoric

Might mean I’m historic.
