Remembering Rain

I drag myself along,
Just going through the motions.
It’s just so old, so same.
I need something more.

The world has become complacent
And forgotten me as I remember it.
Suddenly, it remembers
And showers me with a gift.

I step outside and
See the world’s offering.
It bears down harder
Raising my spirits.

It is simple and necessary
Yet beautiful and luxurious.
The world has remembered me
And I have forgotten the world.
