Ocean surrounds me,

I can barely keep myself from going under

To the cold depths that watch with hunger

Eye me with greed

-

People are below me

Under me

Falling into the cold depths

Eyes glassed over, consumed by rage

-

A person to my left encourages me

To take a quick dip

Into the cold depths

To ignore those eyes of hunger

-

I relax

My head goes under

The cold flows through me

The cold depths are full

Full with hunger

-

I struggle

Stop sinking

My head breaks surface

Those eyes are filled with anger

Those eyes of hunger

-

Above me people rest

They watch idly

I scream for help

Water in my ears

They turn their eyes

Eyes devoid of life

-

Hands upon my ankles

Salt is in my tears

They pull me under

Into that cold, black, hunger
