A/N: Thank you for the lovely review! Please keep reading and reviewing!!
When Saveirgn woke, he found Zoliir curled against him, whimpering and crying. The older boy knew that the poor kid must have gotten scared during the night, and come to him for comfort. He could tell Zoliir hadn’t got much rest, and couldn’t quite bring himself to wake him up. The young boy wasn’t used to being out in the open like this, unbound and unwatched. Even though he was sleeping, there were tears on his cheeks that had yet to dry. Ever since they had been captured twelve years prior, Saveirgn had looked after the dark-haired boy, and had essentially become his older brother.
Just as Saveirgn sat up, Dechè walked into the room carrying an armful of wood. “Not a morning person?” He said cheerfully, setting the wood down and preparing to light a fire. Saveirgn shook his head, and Dechè smiled. “Neither is my Lexi. I’d still like to know, why did you save him?”
It was Saveirgn’s turn to smile. “He reminded me of Zoliir when he was first captured. I had to help him. Why were you two captured, anyways? Do something stupid like lead the village rebellion?”
Dechè chuckled. “Nope. We were kissing in the woods. I had just proposed to him. Some soldiers caught us, and said our relationship was wrong.” His face contorted with pain. “They whipped him, and chained him up separately. I thought he was going to die. I really owe you one. Did you lead a village rebellion?”
“Naw. My parents did that. I was just their five-year-old kid. So what were you doing?”
“Just explorin’ a bit. I didn’t go inside this place to far, I wanted to have us all together to do that. It looks amazing though. I saw an assortment of carvings and frescos, as well as quite a few sculptures and such. Do you think we should wake the others now, so we can go?”
“I’m awake, I’m awake!” Vachesska lifted her head sleepily from the floor. She glanced over at the still distressed sleeping Zoliir. “Is he okay? He looks a bit upset.”
Saveirgn sighed. “This is all new to him. I think he got a bit scared during the night. He had me in a death grip when I woke up. You know the way he is, he still wets while he’s sleeping. I don’t really want to wake him, but I don’t want to leave him here while we’re exploring.”
“Are you his brother?” Dechè asked, “Cause you two really don’t look like brothers.”
Saveirgn shook his head. “Not by blood, but I’m as good as. Let’s wake the two sleepyheads up.” He leaned over Zoliir and shook him gently. “Zoliir… wake up…”
The dark-haired boy moaned and pulled himself into a sitting position, before falling onto Saveirgn and wrapping his arms around him.
“Are you alright? You were practically suffocating me when I woke up.”
“Sorry.” Zoliir whimpered. “There was a whole bunch of scary noises, and you wouldn’t wake up.”
“It’s okay.” He patted his young friend gently on the back and looked over at Dechè, who was helping Lexi sit up. He noticed that the pale boy looked very much like a beautiful young woman in the early morning light, with his lustrous, pure white, waist-length and slightly wavy hair. His eyes were a very light pearl gray, and his skin didn’t look quite so sickly white, more a glowing, healthy white. Leaving the boy to finish waking up on his own, Dechè came back over.
“Has he always been that pale?” Saveirgn asked, glancing at Lexi.
“Yup.” The other boy answered. “Always. He looks good that way though. He nearly glows in the dark. Looks just like an angel.” He started staring dreamily off into space. He seemed to come abruptly back to his senses a few seconds later. “Let’s go!”
