More Than Human

Could a human be so perfect?

You are more than human,

more than perfect.

My conscience feels pure

my heart feels full

my soul feels joyful

just by the sound of your name.

You are the one

the only one

that can help me through my pain

and guide me every day.

Life may seem

in ways

like a deep, dark ocean

spanning beyond the horizon.

I can feel vicious,

loathsome,

malicious sharks

swimming by me

and wanting to devour me.

I sense I’m drowning

with the sharks eyeing me.

But I have nothing to fear,

because your golden hands

lift me

from the sharks

in the black sea

of sins

of deceit

of darkness.

I sometimes cannot see the path

in front of me,

with its twists ad turns.

You are the light

that brightens the path,

and leads me

the right way.

And when I fall on the path,

with no hope left in me,

you carry me onwards.

You have my faith,

my courage,

my strength,

and I know you will guide me

to paradise.

This is why I give

myself

in your service,

my Saviour,

Jesus Christ.
