War at Your Throat
by Toreshi
1>
It howls, cries with the breath
Of all those hurt, in pain.
You can smell the tears,
Sure as you can smell rain.
2>
War is no one’s lover but his own.
Power gave birth to War
Ugly heads arise from this,
Give me but a battle for
The good of us all;
But someone will always be
Wrong, if many must die.
The death of many will make us see
That this is not needed
Anymore than the power struggles
Are, but both exist
And will persist, life’s not dull
With a knife at your throat
And the wind howling, sky
Crying, our voices, our tears,
Yet, not a thought, as we get by.
3>
I don’t understand.
Child, you never will.
So I choose not to see.
The truth is there still.
