FALLEN ANGEL

Shall I compare thee to the beast trapped within?

Hatred lost in heartless words spoken with cold voice

Unforgiving hands care not for life we hath been given

Promise dost not hinder anger, malign choice

Fear resides not within thy bitter, blackened core

Pleasure from bloodshed hath overwritten empathy

Condemned what love thy kept behind locked door

Eternally poisoned by violence, inhumanity

To thy bloodied fangs and claws thy heart is forsaken

Hardhearted hunger bleeding over forgotten trust

Sweet upon thy tongue a thirsted taste of hatred taken

Open thy eyes, fallen love, and betray leaden night to dust

Beyond the reach of gentle hand, my word submits thy will

Thou may scream at me with angry protest, outrage, and still…

Shall I compare thee to the heavens’ shining light?

So beautiful, blinding with ashen splendor to my eye

Unseen wings upon thy back misleading keenest sight

Spin through, across the silver mists of thy timeless sky

Ageless thy linger as perfect, courageous incarnate

Thy speak as the river, thy touch is sunrise upon the day

Thy golden eyes, so full of life and colour, art infinite

Hair of silver, dance with starlit winds until dawn’s first ray

Unhindered by guilt thy soul is free to fly over feudal lands

Spirit untamed, ingrained with undying feral fire

Tempered as steel, yet soft like song, art thy loving hands

Guide me, fallen love, in thy dauntless arms take me higher

So breathtaking, innocent thy sleep beneath the moonlight pale

Guardian light, everlasting, thou art my fallen angel
