Another Monday morning
Another end to a sleepless night
The gray light bids me welcome
To another pointless plight
I stumble through dim hallways
My muddy schoolbag hanging limp
And the books all merge together
Their written knowledge dimmed
Another day of boredom
Of forcing myself to care
When its obvious in truth
I’d rather not be here
Within these hospital-white walls
Amidst the drama, the shallow teen angst
And people in black trying desperately
To appear to be in great pain
Nerds read, potheads smoke,
While poets dream and jocks complain
All obsessed with their attempt to prove
These groups they worshipare not the same
Its Monday morning once again
We say good morning and mean good night
Knowing there’s just five more days to sleep through
Until the long-awaited Friday night
