Such a sweet little cry
You wriggle and squirm
Innocent, unknowing
You fall into her arms
As she sobs, the tears
Fall on your forehead
She holds you tight
Far away from the disappointment
She feels inside
All the goals she had,
The friends she’s lost
Her life seems one-ended
Like a ‘no exit’ sign
Then you open your eyes
And see her tears
And she stops crying
And gazes at you in amazement
This beautiful child
A split image of her
Such a wonderful gift
She caresses your little fingers
And you smile
