In silence I beseech You to stop.
Your words tear me apart,
Ripping me from the inside out.
I can’t stand such an atmosphere,
Where I can’t breathe for the life of me.
So I leave.
And You just can’t understand that.
So You keep trying.
It’s kind of saccharine-sweet, really.
But I’ve never had a palate for sugar.
I do wish you’d stop.

But it’s not like I can even voice this.
Not to you.
Not to anyone.
Society calls, my darling.
Society demands.
Society dictates.
And so we all must live in censorship.
But ah,
So is the life
Of an American Vegetarian.
