Whatchamacallme: This was inspired when my cat jumped up on our footstool and I looked into his eyes. If you’ve ever looked into a cat’s eye, it really is ageless.

Taco really is almost sixteen years old in human years, which is sixty-five or so in cat years. He is a Siamese mix with semi-long fur and looks like he has some Burmese in him. Fortunately, he is quiet unlike our other Siamese mix, Asia. She's extremely loud >.

His eyes are ageless
They are like a pit:
Bottomless,
Endless.
Like chocolate and sky.

Set in an old body,
They are out of place.
So very out of place.
Yet they fit,
Nothing less would suit.

Delicate lines web
Over that cerulean ring.
Cerulean so very pale
Blue or white,
Please do guess.

Chocolate that can melt
A heart in one glance.
Playful and fearful,
Brown turned crimson,
At light’s gentle kiss.

So old for one so young,
So old to him,
So young to us.
Over sixty,
Nigh sixteen.

His eyes are ageless.
They are like a pit:
Bottomless,
Endless.
Like chocolate and sky.

Review if'n you like. This is one of my favorite poems.
