The Essay of DOOM!
(A/N): I love this story! I have another version of it under my fan fiction pen name (which is the same by the way) But its like two years old and the story sucks. So I decided to remake it on this site and hope it gets more publicity. I also changed the name (The English language) I like this name better. Anyways on with the fic!

Summery: When at school the one word no one wants to hear is homework, but when that word is combined with essay. Everything you know goes out the window. All your fears turn into reality and your world is turned upside down. That’s how it was for Kari. She takes on the ultimate challenge. Challenging the English teacher!

Chapter 1: The Assignment (Friday)
It was a typical school day in Japan. The birds were singing, and the cherry blossoms were just starting to bloom. All seemed right with the world.
Maybe in a parallel universe!
Outside school everything was hunky dory but inside school, it was hell. It was near the end of the card marking and all the teachers were squeezing out every last drop of intelligence from their students. Assigning projects and handing out pop quizzes. Basically every student was no longer a student but a learning machine on overdrive. And Kari was no different, only she was running extremely low on power.
Sitting in class, staring blanking out the window was her favorite pastime. Especially, in English class.
‘Five, four, three,’ Kari switched from the window to her watch counting down the seconds till the bell rang. ‘Two…ONE! Hello weekend!’ Kari sprang up from her seat.
“Just a minute now!” Her teacher yelled over the bell, and students gathering their books. “Before you go you have an assignment.”
Kari couldn’t believe it. An assignment over the weekend was unthinkable, unfathomable even. In fact you’d have to be crazy and have no life to want to work on the weekends.
Oh wait, that’s the definition of teacher isn’t it? Never mind.
--.---.---.---.--
“God Kari, you look like death warmed over!” Exclaimed her extremely intelligent friend, Riiku. Unlike Kari, Riiku was top in her class and had learning energy to burn. Oh how Kari hated that.
Kari slammed her locker shut and shifted slowly towards Riiku.
“I feel like someone slammed my head against a brick wall.” She moaned and walked down the hall towards the exit of the school, with her companion close behind. “I have an English assignment due on Monday. I’m never gonna finish.”
“You have Miss. E.T. don’t you?”
Kari nodded slowly.
“Well, then what’s the problem she doesn’t assign that hard of homework.” Her friend reasoned. “Isn’t she the easy teacher? The one that every student wants?”
She let out an exasperated sigh. “Yeah, but English was never my strong suite.”
Riiku paused just outside the school gates. “Well what kind of assignment is it?”
Kari stopped just a few feet ahead and stared at the sky, contemplating something. A plane soared over, drowning out another sigh. “It’s a free write, or impression essay. We get to pick a topic, and explain our position and or opinion on it.”
Riiku gave her a confused look. “So what your saying is you can write about what ever you want and say whatever you want.”
“Pretty much.”
Riiku’s eye twitched angrily. “Then what’s the problem?”
Kari turned around with a very serious expression on her face. “Felt like whining.”
Riiku deadpanned. “You idiot!” She was behind Kari in a second. Bringing her hand to the back of her friend’s head, causing her to cry out in pain.
“Stop being such a dork!” Riiku huffed.
“Ow…. what’d you do that for I was serious!”
“That’s what scares me.” Riiku replied, looking at her watch then at the sky. “Well its getting late good luck with your assignment. I’m going to be gone all weekend,” Riiku grinned evilly at her companion. “I’m going to Disney land in Hong Kong. So see you on Monday.” With that she skipped happily down the street leaving her dumbfounded cohort alone. A silent wind blew across the street string up some dust.
“Arrrrgh!”
Doom was here to stay.
(A/N): I apologize for the shortness, but as weird as it sounds I have my own essay to write. Though it’s actually for history on Manifest Destiny. I might post that too, depending on what grade I get.
!Preview!:
“Shut up Yotsuba!” Kari moaned into the phone. “I’m being serious. I have no idea what to write about.”
“Well whose fault is that?”
Kari just stared at the receiver.
“Fine, I’ll come over.”
“Thank you sooo much Yostuba-chan!” Kari hung up the phone and hurried to get changed.

(A/N): Stay tuned for the next chapter!
