Eyes of the Dark or Mask of the Lady Death

All the gems of Araby

All the jewels of Kublia Khans court

Incrust and surround, two sapphires bright and round

With a shine and a beauty, that would make you meet your mort.

So kind yet so sharp

They shine piercing and soft

In the shadows, in the dark, they twinkle and they spark

Your very soul they will make it go aloft.

To glimpse It just once

Is death, swift indeed

For a glimpse of this jeweled mask of the night

Comes only to those in dire need.

In need of sleep

In need of rest eternally

But it also comes for those in need

Of peace internally.
