Author's Note: In order to clean up my page a little bit, I'm posting all of my poetry in this "story". Thanks to all you out there who are looking at this and seeing things you've read before.

I Want to Be Inside

When you stop and stare

And pull away

I reach farther out.

Don’t leave this way.

There’s a light in the darkness

But the light is so dim

And it hurts your eyes,

Your pupils so slim.

Why can’t you see

That in trying to save me

You’re creating a gap?

It gets wider daily.

I love you

And I feel

Like you love me too.

But the wall won’t let it be real.

My heart breaks each day

With the seeming cold

Of your feelings.

I can’t let it go.

There’s this hole in the path

We used to walk

And though the words are there

I can’t seem to talk.

I wish you could see

That I really don’t mind

If you’re a monster or not.

I want to be inside.
