Leaves and Words

Words among countless words

Fluttered in the nightly wind

Telling truths and lies and in betweens

All spiraled downwards

Swept off the porch

And degenerated into nothingness

Yet

These unspoken feelings

All locked up high

Threaten to fly away

Into leave-strewn airs

Buoyed by the hope

That those feelings would reach

Without being weighed down by words
