What does a guardian do

When those he has fought for

No longer need his aide

And can stand their own ground.

Is there still a place

For those of the Old Guard?

The ones that fought the battles

When others were down and out?

Their time has run out

And now they are forgotten

For what good is a warrior

When there are no more wars to fight?

They knew this day would come

When they reached their ends.

With nothing left to fight for

What is there for them to do?

Once all of it is over

That know their work is done

And those that they stood for

Are now ready to face the world.
