Author’s Note: This is a story I came up with a few years ago, but postponed after I heard about the book Battlefield Earth (which kinda made me frown cause the plots are similar… not the same... but… well… same genre…). I have since redone and started a new. Here is the short and sweet prologue.
Lordess
Coni Electronic Journal/Diary - Code - 62783111
Owner’s Name: Guy Macaulay
Entry Number: 153
Saved As: To Whom It May Concern
If you’re reading this now, one of two things have happened to me. I have either escaped or died trying.
The Vepone have allowed me to keep my things while they hold me captive, including this electronic journal. It sounds like a dreadfully stupid thing to do, considering they think me very dangerous. I still have my weapon attached to my leg, and yet they hold no worries. If you saw my cell, you would understand why, of course. I can’t even remember where the door is and the room is no more than seven feet wide.
But that’s beside the point. If you’re reading this, I must have gotten out some way or another and you must have gotten in. I feel sorry for you to be stuck in the same, lonely cell I was, at one time, held in. But who knows, perhaps you are smarter than I am when it comes to the Vepone and have already figured a way out. I’m not from this side of the universe, so that put me at an automatic disadvantage.
In the case that you’re trying to escape or just as stuck as I was, I have written this story to keep you company. Writing it, I hope, will allow me to keep my sanity in this small room. I have a small claustrophobia problem and telling you this will keep my mind far from my fears.
I will tell you now that everything in this story is true. Things may sound unbelievable to you, but I assure you, everything really happened. I know this because I lived it. I’m what many on this side of the universe call the Biphectials and I am from the planet dubbed Ieal. I call myself a human. I am from Earth.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of the Keilic invasion of Earth (Ieal), but I wanted to let you know this now. I saw all of it. I faced the great Tabarus Alvat Sixtar. And guess what? I lived to tell the tale. And now, I shall tell it to you.
My name is Guy Macualay, I forgot how many years old I am now, but I was six when the Keilic came to take away the freedom of Earth.
