Silver Falls

And you don’t care
I am shattered
The wind blows by and I hear the words
You’re killing me here
But you’re already gone
My body is a ghost
But you’re the one that’s dead
Pull me out of this grave
The one you made especially for me
You cut the rope but I’ll pull myself out
I don’t need your heart or hand

Silver falls follow me
The waves hit my body
I am immobilized by your eyes
Silver falls escape me
Taking a part of me
But killing you oh, so slowly

Running, out of breath
I lay beside you in a dream
But it escapes me
This nightmare will never end
Holding onto for dear life
But we’re already dead
You whisper to me
Words of death and love
I am pulled in, captivated
You’ve always had an audience in me
But now there’s no standing ovation

Silver falls follow me
Your eyes captured every photograph
But I stole the negatives
Silver falls escape me
Killing you oh, so slowly
And I find it so delicious

I fall dangerously into myself
I'm shattered like a mirror
Your soul is trapped within
But you never had one to begin with
I sold it long ago with my broken heart
These falls have jagged rocks
And they are genuinely merciless
But I can’t save you, you’re not mine
So, here you’ll die for betraying me
Try to find within this black abyss
The answers to all your unasked questions

Silver falls follow me
The ashes from the doused fire choke me
I can’t say these words, they don’t exist
Silver falls escape me
This pain is so lovely
We all died oh, so slowly

Over Silver Falls…
