Harsh Fortune

O harsh does the wind of fortune blow,

That pelts the heart with shallow tears,

A tempest rumbling unearthly glow.

The moon rises sure and slow,

An angel’s light put out this night,

O harsh does the wind of fortune blow.

A single tree waves to and fro,

Demon eyes stalk their prey,

A tempest rumbling unearthly glow.

A woman’s cries heard down below,

Wailing the song of an ending life,

O harsh does the wind of fortune blow.

Blood streams softly in a steady flow,

Thought the scavengers do not come out,

A tempest rumbling unearthly glow.

A new day breaks on this night of woe,

Safety reigns once again,

O harsh does the wind of fortune blow,

A tempest rumbling unearthly glow.
