I saw once a slaughterhouse,
From quite a distance far.
A place in which our brother,
Is killed by bolt machines.
I saw once a slaughterhouse,
And regret I didn't walk away.
The sounds that came forth from that building,
Drove a bullet through my heart.
I saw once a slaughterhouse,
I couldn't move my feet.
I saw the animals being led up that ramp,
They were already dead.
I saw once a slaughterhouse,
As dark and grey as wilting roses.
The clouds that hung above it,
Were not afraid to cry.
Tell me what must it be like,
To be dead before you die?
The stench of blood and rotting flesh,
Filling your every nerve?
I saw once a slaughterhouse,
From quite a distance far.
Now you know what our brother saw,
When he came upon his slaughterhouse.
