Interpret the Meaning

How do you write a feeling,
Something so hard to describe,
You cannot find words to fit,
But only actions?

Should you pen it out,
Explain it in detail,
Hoping the reader will understand,
When you tell them what to feel?

Too often do the words I write
Fall out of context
And into distortion,
The message getting lost on the way.

Should it be more explicit,
Not requiring assumptions,
But stating it plainly,
Saying exactly what I mean?

Or should it be left to interpretation,
Letting the reader decide,
Hoping that even a few,
Will know my motive?

But that is art,
Open-ended and full of ideas,
Each one different for every person,
Yet each is not the goal.
