Flicker of Light

I can’t remember when it began,

I never wanted this night to end,

There are feelings I don’t understand,

When did I see you as more than a friend?

We worked so hard for this one night,

6 months of work, all for tonight,

We slaved and toiled with all our might,

In the end, you’re such a great sight.

Tears were shed, nerves were shaken,

Muscles were aching and spirits were beaten,

But we managed to fight on, not forsaken,

Even as my heart got broken.

I tried to look for you that whole night,

I couldn’t catch you, no matter how I tried,

But then I saw this flicker of light,

And I knew, that was the greatest sight.

A/N: I know this isn’t that good, but it’s been a while since I’ve managed to write something impromptu. I know it may not make sense to any of you (unless you know me personally) because it is actually based on this one night which was organized by the committee I’m in for my uni. And the flicker of light was this necklace that had lights and most of the people in the committee had one. And she was wearing one of those, that was when I managed to find her in the crowd of people. Sounds lame eh?
