Stairs of Light

The parting of eternity, in a dream
The misty dawn sends off a chariot of light
Upon fading clouds and sunlight's stream
Off into the far distances, out of sight

Existence wandering this broken world
Pieces that lay on the edge of chaos
Now, trying desperately to hold
Onto these chains of reason and cause
As the passage of time unfolds
The cessation of a painful continuation

The lights of eternity, in a dream
Carries the soul away in the hazy night
Upon vanishing skies and sunlight's memory
Off into the far distances, out of sight

A vision of someone passing on
The rhythm of flight, now gone
