i am one
to enjoy large crowds
but just to sit outside them

i enjoy watching
i enjoy the waiting
and anticipation
that comes with spotting
familiar faces among
the more unfamiliar

i enjoy drawing
in my mind
the ties that bind
the people together
with a thin-thread of silver

i watch people move and twist
among each other
making webs and weaves
that trap the most stealthy
of social butterflies

and move in like spiders
