You left us…

Walked away

Abandoned us

We couldn’t follow

Ideals of freedom

Faded with you

We remained behind

In a endless road

Timeless trail

Where have you gone?

Our last hero

In a world of cowards.

No marks caress the sand

Showing your passage

Granting us guidance

And no sorrow is enough

Or regret as piercing

Will someone bring you back

Or the bliss of ignorance we lost?

We scream in our own core

Where no one listens

We stand in the darkness

Where no one sees

Why can’t you return?

Bring us the courage we need,

Break this night we live in

Because we are so lost…

And no one cares

Why ask for Utopia?

We aren’t worth it

Unable to build it

A destroyed mirage

Of a dreamless mind

Choice and justice?

Just empty words,

Vague reminders,

Lesson long forgotten,

A grace absent of our lives

And no awareness can be as bitter

Or mourning as deep

Will someone guide you back

Or the bliss of oblivion we seek?

Why did death take you?

Why did it take our hope?

Why can’t it take this pain,

Replace these broken dreams,

Erase these aching illusions,

Close that window you left open?

Cursed the gift you brought us

Cursed the light you showed us

Because now we understand

And now…we cannot forget…
