(Intro)

Hush little one

Why do you cry?

Wont mommy and daddy make everything right?

But its okay I promise you someday

Every things going to be alright…

(Verse)

The stories that you told me

I wish that they were true

Dear mom and dad

They could never lie to you

Why did you take there heart and break it

You’re all they ever knew

(chorus)

Can you hear their cries?

I’m not singing about love here!

I’m singing for that little girl

Sitting alone on the swing

I’m singing for that little boy

Overdosing on those drugs you take!

They’re lost in this world you know

They never chose to be here

Why must they suffer for the mistake you made?

They never wanted to be this afraid

Why not give parenthood a chance?

(verse)

The children grow so old

By six they know more then me

About the drugs and sex I hate

Dear god I pray their souls you save

But that’s not right, I guess I’m wrong

But if I was then why’s your son in a hospital?

They’re looking for a way out

Laying on the bathroom floor

All they wanted was to be loved

And be held once more

Stop telling yourself you’re doing a good job

Just because you give them another 10 dollars

Moneys not what they need

Be a parent and stand up to see

The world that you created

Then released them to

They never chose to be here

And all they wanted was a little love from you

(chorus)

They never wanted to be here

You drove them to this point

That little girl on a swing

Now laying dead-

Her blood filling your kitchen sink

And that little boy

Who learned so young of the wrong ways

Sitting jail

Waiting for his execution day

They never wanted to know this life

All they wanted was a little love

Stop patting yourself on your back

And give parent hood a chance…
