A/N: Hello again, faithful readers... it has been... what? A day since our last meeting? I wasn't expecting to have the new story out so quickly... but that damned Liam would not leave me alone. Pushy vamp. For those of you reading this who have no idea what I am talking about... that means that you haven't read Ex,the story, who's title will be changed to The Web by the end of the week. I suggest you read that story first, since you won't have a clue as to what you are reading in this story without the background provided in that one. To all my readers: I hope you all enjoy this story as much as the last one! It will be filled with better bad guys, more plot twists and of course, more Trinity X Ex moments... just for Lightless and Sightless! Okay everyone, enjoy!!

Prologue:

The room was black; the candles had long since burnt out during the night. The air felt wonderfully cool against heated skin and the silken sheets felt better. The scents of sandalwood, leather and sex clouded the mind, leaving the man and the woman on the bed in a state of awed confusion.

He could not tell where she began and he ended, in his mind, they were one being. Fused together in the most intimate of ways. She took everything that he offered and gave him twice as much in return. He knew that her heart belonged to him, just as his belonged to her and the joy of it filled him up. Not long ago she would have denied him, but she had finally accepted him. The better choice out of the two, as far as he was concerned.

The moan that tore from the back of her throat jerked him out of his reverie and he grinned, amused by what she may have said if she had noticed his daydreaming. Spacing out would not be appreciated by his lover, not in the least. His grin widened. Lover. Gods, it had been a long and tiring road, but he had weathered it like a true champion. Never once gave up hope, never once thought of surrendering. Not once.

Trinity was unaware of the grin that lit her lover’s face, the darkness worked better than a blindfold and she shivered as his unseen hands caressed her. She arched beneath him, the movement as graceful and unconsciously sensual as a cat. She wrapped her arms around him as they rose towards completion. Their lips met, the kiss sweet and tender, portraying their feelings with one simplistic and powerful action. She murmured words of love and contentment against his mouth and sighed. This was where she wanted to be. With him, by his side forever. She felt the love inside of her well up like tears and felt the overwhelming urge to show him, make him feel what she felt. She let her energy wrap around them as her head fell back and she offered his neck to him in a show of complete trust and devotion. He felt a giant unseen hand squeeze his heart in its fist and sighed, dipping his mouth to the silky flesh of her throat. With great care, he bit into her and as the rich, warm taste of her blood filled his mouth, he heard her cry out his name.

-

“Liam.”

Trinity opened her stormy blue eyes to find the bed empty and growled. That stupid little…. She swore in her mind, Why the hell does he keep doing that?! She swung herself out of bed and grabbed her robe. She was already halfway down the hall before she hand it cinched and stopped. With a curse and a flick of her wrist, Trinity disappeared.

Further down the hallway, Johnny looked over at Corralihn and grinned wickedly. “Looks like Ex has gotten himself into a bit of trouble.”

Corra grinned back at him and pointed out, “You don’t have to sound so pleased.”

Johnny laughed, “I am more than pleased, Corralihn. I am in ecstasy! Ex’s pain is my pleasure.” He shuddered, “And by the look in Trin’s eyes, I am about to be in a world of it.”

The young woman shook her head and laughed, tugging her boyfriend towards the kitchen and the pot of coffee waiting for them.

-

Trinity looked down at the sleeping vampire with a quiet rage in her eyes. She would not let the fact that he looked so pretty sprawled across the bed sway her. Nor would the way that his silky hair framed his face make her pulse beat just a little faster. She was mad, dammit. And mad she would stay until she finally beat some sense into his thick British skull.

“Liam.” She hissed, poking him in the side. He did not stir, looking for all the world like a corpse. The sight still unnerved her. But not as much as it once had, after all, a vampire could not be wigged out by other vampires. That was just silly. And dumb. And Trinity was neither. Impatience surged threw her and she poked him again, not so gently. This time, he rolled onto his back.

Apparently… he was naked. And the sheet was low on his hips… very low. Trinity gulped and quickly tugged the blanket upwards. Besides, he was probably cold anyway. Not that vampires really get cold… but that was beside the point. As she leaned in to swat him on the shoulder, his hand reached out and grabbed her around the waist, pulling her onto the bed and, consequently, onto his body. Trinity let out a yelp as he laughed and promptly narrowed her eyes as she blushed.

“William Exanimere Zatayrius.” She started in a quiet, rage filled voice. “How many times have I told you to stay out of my damned dreams?”

Ex blinked his crimson eyes innocently and murmured, “I am not quiet sure, my love. I lost count somewhere after twelve.” She saw the laughter sparkling in the red depths and steeled herself against the urge to join him in it. “Damn it, Liam. I am serious. No sex means no sex. Not even dream sex. Dream sex is ruled out with the no sex factor. And you don’t seem to get that.”

“Trinity, how am I supposed to control my dreams? It is not my fault that I am constantly thinking of you. No, it is not my fault at all. It’s your fault, my little witch.” He said it with such a reasonable tone that Trinity blinked before remembering that he was the one in the wrong. Not her. She hadn’t done anything wrong.

“What do you mean that you can’t control dreams?” She asked him quietly, dangerously. “You were just in mine. I know the difference between regular dreams and ones that have been entered by a Tamieuô Oneiratikos, thank you very much.”

Ex’s brow raised as he sputtered, “You mean that your dreams have been invaded by a Tamieuô Oneiratikos before?” Trinity frowned, “What? No.” His expression cleared with a look of dawning understanding. “Oh. I see. You have dreamed of me before.”

Trinity let her head fall to his shoulder as she let out a sound of exasperation, “Dammit, Liam, knock it off. You are making my head spin.”

One fluid movement had her pinned beneath his body. The look on his face could not be described as anything but devilish. “There are other ways in which I would like to make your head spin, my love.” He leaned down and nibbled her neck. Breathing into her ear, he promised, “Much more enjoyable ways, at that.”

His voice alone was enough to make her shiver, but coupled with his mouth upon her skin and his weight pressing her body into the luxurious bedspread beneath them, she knew that they were quickly approaching the danger zone. “Liam.” She murmured in a breathy voice. “Let me up.”

Ex’s red eyes held hers while her searched for something in the stormy depths. Whatever he was looking for, he found and he pulled away from her to lie on his side. With one arm, he pulled her body to his and snuggled underneath the covers with a big happy sigh. “Stay with me.”

Trinity looked up at him, “Liam.” She said with laughter in her voice, “It’s almost sunup.”

The pleading in his eyes was enough to sway her as he asked with a pout, “Please? Lie with me.” She faked a grieved sigh and wrapped her arms around him. “Fine.” She pouted, “But I won’t like it.”

Ex’s grin was wicked, “I could make you like it.”

Trinity couldn’t help but smile at the confidence in his face, “I’m sure that you could, darling, I am sure that you could.” She waited a beat before saying, “But you’re not going to. Now ssssh. Let me get some of the sleep that you deprived me of.”

“All right, dear heart. You sleep. I’ll make sure that the badies keep away.”

The pull of sleep was already dragging her under as she murmured, “Silly Liam, the bad guys only come out in the dark.”

If only that were true, Ex thought. If only that were true.

Trinity sat through her classes with a barely controlled impatience. All she could think of was getting home to go see Liam. She shook her head and looked down at her paper and frowned. All over the smooth white surface there were doodles of his names and little hearts. She was disgusted. Hearts. Gods, what the hell am I turning into? She asked herself, A little school girl? Wouldn’t Liam be thrilled to hear that?

“What would Ex be thrilled to hear?” Tarra asked from the desk to her right. Trinity jumped, not realizing that she had said it aloud. “Oh.” She murmured, blushing. “Nothing.” Tarra raised an eyebrow and stole her sister’s notebook. With a gleeful cackle she tossed it back on the mortified woman’s desk. “Oh yeah, Trin. You’ve been bit by the bug.”

“I was under the impression that I had been bitten by a vampire.” Trinity grumbled under her breath, but being a vampire herself, Tarra caught it and laughed harder. “Awww, c’mon Trin. It’s not that bad.”

Trinity ignored her sister as she fell further into hysterics. She smirked when the professor told Tarra to shut up or get out and Tarra picked the former. “Losing your backbone, sis?” Trinity asked, derisively. Tarra looked down her nose at the taller girl, “No, I just can’t afford to miss anymore classes.”

Trinity settled back into her desk, with her pencil in hand. She didn’t really mind that her notes were littered with the nickname that she had given the world’s most notorious vampire. Nor did she mind that her younger sister found it hilarious. No, she didn’t mind at all, because the vampire in her thoughts was waiting for her to get home. And when she did… She sighed. Being in love was not nearly as scary as she had thought that it was going to be.

-

Falling in love was the absolute worst thing that had ever happened to him. He hated it and everything about it. Most of all, he hated her. How dare she? How dare she leave him? Lock him away in a cell with no walls and a huge one way glass window. Where people could see him, but he couldn’t see them. But even though he couldn’t see through the huge pane of glass, even though he couldn’t see her when she came. He could still feel her. And for now, that was enough. It was enough to sit in this cold room all alone knowing that she was just as cold and alone as he was. She just didn’t know it. It was enough to know that she was without the love that he could provide her.

But very soon, it wouldn’t be.

And when it wasn’t… he’d be free of this place. Free to claim her as his again.
