Sarah
He was in love you Sarah, that’s why he didn’t kill you. one shot
Sarah is dating this guy, you see.
She doesn't mind him.
He's cute, funny, and a hell of a good singer.
What's greater was how they met.
It was winter at the time, and the snow would drift upon the earth, giving it a coat of sheer oblivion.
You see, Sarah was on her way to the market so she could buy eggs like a good little girl, plus it was because she had broken the last carton from her, ahem, science experiment and her mother didn't know.
So, as she is on her way, she sees a guy from the corner of her eye, Sarah just thinks that it's just a guy and goes on her merry way.
But the guy saw her, too.
When Sarah came out of the store, eggs in hand, she noticed the guy leaning against a bus sign.
He was catching snow flakes in his mouth.
Sarah, of course, thought this guy was crazy and started to walk back to her house.
"Wait."
Of course, this seemed, pretty cliché. So, Sarah decided to say "no" to whatever this guy had to say to her.
She was surprised, however, that a flower was thrusted to her face.
Was it a sign of love?
Hell no.
The "daisy" looked like it was ripped out from the ground as a last resort, roots were still in tack and the dirt was crumbling away from under it. The petals had a brown hue and if you looked close enough, which Sarah could, there were little holes at the tips of the petals.
Sarah backed away a bit.
The guy continued to speak.
"Will you go out with me?"
Sarah stared.
"Isn't that a little too forward?"
"Maybe, but I'll take the risk."
"With a flower like that, you have a very slim chance."
The guy stared at his flower.
"Well, what do you want?"
"Dunno, all the good flowers are usually gone by winter," Sarah finished. She was about to turn around to leave until a crack was heard.
Sarah zipped around.
A branch, crusted with snow was thrusted to her.
"What the he-"
"It's pretty, don't you think? The snow looks like flowers on the branch. I guess this can count as a winter flower."
Sarah looked away.
"Hardly."
The boy grinned sheepishly.
"Wanna go out?”
“…sure.”
And that's how it all started.
They would go out on dates together, it wasn't really dating, per say. It was more on the lines of, "Wanna hang out at the creek?" kind of thing.
Ah yes, they were having such a great time.
He would casually hang his arm over her, while giving her hot chocolate.
She would literally throw a blanket on top of him, when he slept.
But like winter...
...everything melts away.
Oh, for you see, the guy she was dating...
...obviously had a terrible secret.
But because the guy loved his sweet little Sarah ever so much…
He told her.
Actually...he didn't tell her, actually.
He showed her.
Sarah dropped her Big Mac and stared at her beloved boyfriend.
"Y-You're kidding..."
The guy smiled at Sarah and embraced her.
"Sshh. Don't tell. Okay, love?"
Sarah didn't say anything and continued to stare; her hands trembling.
And she looked at the pieces of her neighbor.
Sarah looked out her boyfriend with eyes full of terror.
"O-okay."
“You know I love you, right?” He whispered into her ear a couple days later.
Sarah nods and takes a forced bite out of her sandwich. They are sitting underneath the willowed tree, its arms shading bother Sarah and her lover.
He’s going to kill you!
Sarah jerks her head up from her sandwich and stares off into the abyss.
“Honey?”
Sarah turns around to see her boyfriend with a concerned face placed upon his features, his polo shirt unbuttoned and an apple propped in his hand.
“Yes…dear?” Sarah asked slowly.
Her boyfriend played with one of her braids.
“Nothing just worried.”
He’s going to kill you!
His skin then brushed against Sarah’s neck and the girl suddenly jerks forward.
“N-nothings wrong, dear!” Sarah yelled and she takes another bite.
The boy looks sheepish and he flips a piece of his sand colored hair out of his face.
Moving slowly, the boy clutches Sarah towards his body. Sarah then takes noticed on how well built he is, his body framing hers’ perfectly. He gave off a breath on Sarah’s neck, making her let out a nervous laugh.
He’s going to kill you!
“You don’t…hate me, do you?”
Sarah then jerks behind her and stares into the boy’s eyes. He looks sad, smiling ironically.
“Of course not, dear.” Sarah whispers, before leaning in to give her boyfriend a peck on the cheek. The boy grins and cuddles into Sarah before taking her hand into his.
“You know,” The boy breathes in Sarah’s hair.
He’s going to kill you!
“What?” Sarah asks.
“I love the way my hand looks against yours’.”
Sarah smiled before going under her boyfriend’s arm and picks up the empty dishes from their picnic.
“Hey, Sarah.”
Sarah stands up and slowly looks behind her to see the boy leaning on the tree. His eyes seem distant and his shoulder is propped up against the tree.
“What is it, dear?” Sarah responds automatically.
“I…you’ll…I really love you, you know that?” The boy asks; his voice quivers.
Sarah smile wavers.
The boy grins before slipping his hand into his jacket.
He’s going to kill you!
Sarah drops her dishes before letting out a silent scream.
Something shiny.
He’s going to kill you!
“Sarah?”
HE’S GOING TO KILL YOU!!!
Something…
“No!!!” Sarah screams before she shoves her fist against her boyfriend, sending him flinging against the tree.
The boyfriend doesn’t say anything and Sarah silently watches as his gift tumbles across the filed and into the river.
“Sarah…”
Sarah’s eyes are hysterical before she lets out a cry and falls to her knees.
A few weeks later, she is sitting at her house; her cat is lying on her lap. She starts to pet it occasionally before staring out the window from time to time.
It has been days before she had last seen her boyfriend. After the unutterable incident that happened at their picnic, her boyfriend simply smiled and planted a lingering kiss on her forehead.
“I understand.”
And with that, he left.
Sarah felt a scratch on her hand as the cat yelped and jumped from her lap. Suddenly, a loud crash was heard and she felt lights of red and blue flash through her darkened window.
Stifling a scream, Sarah thrashed her legs against the pillow.
“Something’s’ holding me back!”
“…Sarah…”
He’s going to kill you!
Sarah then only got even wilder and tried to scream. Her eyes were wide in panic as she felt a cold tip of a gun against her ear.
“Please Sarah…I loved you, Sarah. God damn it, I loved you.”
She felt the gun pushed harder and Sarah let out a small squeak before feeling the imprinting of the gun.
He’s going to kill you!
Her door was banging now, someone wanted to get it.
“Miss?! Miss!? Open the door!”
“Ssshh… Don’t worry about it Sarah. Just please…please…”
Sarah did the only thing she could muster and bit down on his hand. The boy didn’t react and just lowered his head next to hers.
He’s going to kill you!
“I loved you…I can’t believe it, but I was fucking in love with you…”
He’s going to kill you!
Sarah closed her eyes in agony and leaned her head back on his shoulder.
“Miss?! That’s it! Break down the door!”
“Sarah…”
He’s going to kill you!
"Wanna go out?”
“…sure.”
Sarah clenched her eyes shut.
He’s going to kill you!
“You don’t…hate me, do you?”
“Sarah…”
“I love the way my hand looks against yours’.”
He’s going to kill you!
The door crashes down in slow oblivion.
Sarah does nothing but turn around in his arms and stares into his deep, ebony eyes.
“I…I might have loved you, too.”
There is a flicker of hope before Sarah lets out a scream, sending thousands of footsteps into their direction.
The guy lets out a loud curse before jumping out the window. His back breaks the glass. The boy rolls around the sharded covered glass before having the effort to stand up and dashing towards a motorcycle.
Sarah then watches from the window, her eyes are glued to his figure as he dashes away.
BANG.
“I…you’ll…I really love you, you know that?”
It takes a while for Sarah to realize that it’s not raining, and that she was crying.
He’s was going to kill you!
It takes even longer for Sarah to drop to her knees as she could no longer stare at her boyfriend’s lifeless body.
A while later, she is taken to the body bag as to be a witness to show that they did shoot the right person. nodding that it was him.
As the bag slowly opens, she sees his pale stricken face. His eyes are closed, sealing forever those dark, ebony eyes. His blonde hair is mixed with dirt and blood.
Sarah lets out a cough before nodding that it was him.
Her head is in shame as she lets out a relief that the police are zipping up his body bag.
“We found this in his pocket, Miss.”
Sarah turns to the police before taking the object out of his hands.
"It's pretty, don't you think? The snow looks like flowers on the branch. I guess this can count as a winter flower."
Sarah lets out a nervous laugh before looking off into the nighttime sky.
He’s was going to kill you!
No, Sarah.
She turns around to go and rent a room in a hotel because her glass is broken. She could step on the shards if she wasn’t too careful.
No, Sarah.
She’s afraid if she doesn’t get the window fixed up soon that she’ll get a cold, or that someone might break in.
No, Sarah.
She’s afraid that is she doesn’t get a room from a good hotel, that the bad ones would have a disease on the bed.
No Sarah.
No Sarah.
She’s afraid.
No Sarah, you’re just being paranoid.
He kissed her, she killed him…
