Wide and Quaking Blue

Mention something

In painless prose

To remind me who she’s wandering away from

Lanking gloriously at half-assed fancy cocktail parties

With a martini in one hand

and .

an olive clutched desperately between a set of bleached teeth

cemented in place by bright red manicure clawed fingernails set upon the toothpick

bleached teeth.

Like chiclet gum

It’s clean and easy ; famous grin

Hours latter, to wobble, giggling like stupid on a holiday

Into the apartment where the rent is a gucci imitation purse

Retire to a chair, half drunk and naked, to hump a man

Who is only an epiphany when you are drunk

And your three year old daughter wanders to the door to stare at her mother’s legs flailing

Eyes wide and quaking blue

Her mother’s legs flailing

Over the tanned and hairy back of stranger skin

Her panty hose halfway of her foot, and her arms floundering

The little girl thought that her mommy was drowning
