Wow, it's been like what... a year since I updated this. Well here you go and update.
Rough
Explanation
There was a knock on the door; Sara looked up to see Fredrick standing in the doorway. He had a smile on his face as he walked into the room and sat on the edge of the bed.
“I see the young one has had his first drink,” said Fredrick.
“Why do you keep calling vampires that?” asked Sara.
“It’s just nature Sara, vampires are always called young until they’ve had their first taste of blood,” said Fredrick. “Also it’s about time we went on a blood run.”
“But what about him?” asked Sara while putting her hand on Aaron.
Fredrick looked over at Aaron, “What’s your name kid?” he asked.
“Aaron,” said Aaron.
“Aaron, welcome to the G6,” said Fredrick.
“The what?” asked Aaron.
“The G6 is an underground vampire league that gets blood from blood banks every now and then. If you’re lucky you get to have some fresh blood from the guards on the scene,” said Fredrick with a smile.
“You’re nuts Fredrick, he hasn’t had any sort of training for this, you do know that the guards have gotten more prevalent and smarter since we started right,” explained Sara.
“Sara my father took me on my first blood run when I was thirteen,” said Fredrick.
“Yes but Aaron here wasn’t exactly born into these conditions,” argued Sara.
“He’s a vampire Sara, he’s just like us, if he wasn’t born into a successful house hold people would look at him differently. They wouldn’t just sit back and brush the thought away, they’d recognize him for what he really is,” Fredrick explained with some force.
“Would you two just can it, I’m not like either of you and I don’t intend to be. Can I just go home?” asked Aaron.
“You don’t have a home to go to,” said Fredrick.
“What do you mean, someone just broke into my house, you don’t think my parents will just sit there and wonder where I am do you?” asked Aaron.
The room became silent, both Sara and Fredrick looked at the ground. The two didn’t want to be the ones to break the news to Aaron about what had happened to his family. As far as they knew his parents were dead, as for his sister, they didn’t know anything about her yet. Aaron’s father was high up in the world, he had a great job as CEO for a software company and he was known world wide in the vampire world as an enforcer for their own rights. For the past few years he had been interrogating members of congress to get them to not pass a new law that would take away vampires rights. Apparently there was a vampire out there who wanted the law to be passed, that way his plan to overthrow the government would be put into full swing.
“Listen Aaron… I… there’s something you should know about your parents,” Fredrick finally said.
“What?” asked Aaron.
“You won’t be seeing them anymore,” said Fredrick.
“That’s not possible, my father was the best there is,” said Aaron.
“No, you are sadly mistaken, the best there is wants to take over the government and make humans a target for hunting,” said Fredrick in a dull tone.
“Then what was my father?” asked Aaron as he tried to remain calm.
“Just another pawn in his plan,” said Fredrick without emotion.
With that said something snapped in Aaron, he lunged from the bed at Fredrick with both of his hands balled into tight fists. Before he even got close to Fredrick Sara had grabbed him around the waist and threw him to the floor. Aaron quickly stood up and tried to lunge at Fredrick again, Sara was quick to hold him back.
“YOU BASTARD! IF YOU KNEW SO MUCH ABOUT THE LEADERS PLAN! YOU COULD HAVE WARNED MY FATHER!” Aaron shouted in fury struggling to get free from Sara’s grip.
“I did warn him, I warned him two months before this day. His assassin got to your father when he was least expecting it. I have been on alert ever since the assassins were dispatched. I know there’s one out there looking for me and there’s probably one out there for you now too,” explained Fredrick.
“JUST SHUT UP! I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT ANYMORE!” Aaron shouted again.
Aaron had stopped struggling and just stood there his fists clenched and his eyes giving Fredrick a piercing glare. The room was silent once again, no one moved and no one said anything. After a few minutes Aaron left the room and walked into a dark hallway. He didn’t know where he was going he just wanted to be away from Fredrick. Aaron eventually found his way to the back porch on the first floor and just stood outside and looked into the darkness of the night. Seconds later Sara appeared behind him, she approached Aaron slowly and placed a hand on his shoulder; Aaron shrugged it off and moved away from her.
“Aaron, it’s going to take some time getting used to this new life style. What we are fighting for is very complicated and hard to explain,” said Sara.
“What are you fighting for?” asked Aaron. By the way he had spoken Sara could tell that he had been crying a little.
“I’ll explain that to you once you’ve calmed down,” said Sara as she walked over and stood beside him.
“Why me?” asked Aaron as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
“I don’t have the answer for that, and I don’t think there really is an explanation,” said Sara.
“Can I just be alone for a while?” asked Aaron.
“Sure,” said Sara as she walked back into the house.
As Sara entered the kitchen she saw Fredrick standing by the sink holding a glass of water in his hand. “So is he going to kill me if I go out there and talk to him?” asked Fredrick.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, he’s still not taking this well. I’d suggest we leave him and go make our blood run,” said Sara.
“I can’t leave him alone here, I swore to his father that I would protect his children,” said Fredrick.
“Well, then you’ll wait and save the blood run for tomorrow,” said Sara.
“Fine, I’ll call the others and tell them that the run has been postponed,” said Fredrick.
