Untitled

Her mother gone

Her father here

Leaving marks on her pale skin

I am here

Her friend

Her sister

Helping her

Her shoulder to cry on

Her journal

The one who is always here to comfort her

We sat together

Her crying in my arms

Holding her to comfort

Then, out of no where

She says:

“I wish I was with my mother…..”

I was at her house

Playing with the wooden ball

The one her mother left her

Her favorite possession

With her mothers name inscribed in it

The only thing that represents her mother existed

Then……

Her father comes

Drunken as can be

Yelling her name

So we ran

Outside

Out of hell

Her father still following

We ran

And ran

And finally the crowd separates us

The Sun setting

She no where to be found

I walk to the dam

Stand and watch the Sun set

And then………..

The wooden ball…..

It floats to the dock…..

And then I knew

The sister I never had

The friend I will never forget

Finally got her wish………
