"I want to keep her..."

"You know you cannot keep a human Leo! It is against our Customs!" His words were so forceful they sounded memorized.

"I don't care," he whispered softly as he bent down to stroke the girls face.

The man reached out and caught the boy's hand in his.

"You should not touch her my Lord. In her dreams she will see you. We do not need another one of your infatuations searching for our existance!"

"This is more than an infatuation Salq. I love her."

Salq scowled. "Leo! That is what you say every time!" He was the only man who dared to address this boy in such a manner.

"Hush you!" Leo half whispered, still staring intently at the girl's sleeping form. Before Salq could stop him, Leo reached out and stroked the girl's cheek.

Her eyelids fluttered ever so slightly as she whimpered.

In exasperation, Salq whispered, "Oh God Leo! Now you've done it!"
