Can you ever know,

How strong my heart beats?

Or how long I lay awake,

Every night still thinking about you?

-

Can you ever know,

How my hair smells,

Or how many times,

I washed it just for you.

-

Can you ever know,

What my lips taste like,

Or how many flavors,

I went through, before I thought of you.

-

Can you ever know,

How I feel before I slumber,

Or just how many of my dreams,

Revolve around you..

-

Can you ever know,

All the stories I’ve told,

Or How many times,

People have heard them?

-

Can you ever know,

How much I want to love you,

Or how many poems I’ve written,

About the heart you’ve shattered.

-

Can you ever know,

How good you make me feel,

Or how long I wait,

For your warm embrace.

-

Can you ever know,

Why I apologize for mistakes,

Or how many faults I have,

Claimed to be victim of?

-

Can you ever know,

Which words I choose not to say,

Or how many times,

I bite back my tongue.

-

How can you know,

The answers to my questions,

Or the reasons behind,

All these things.

-

You will never know,

How I hated to love,

Or how I loved to hate,

In my misbegotten world.

-

I know you’ve told me so,

That I am beautiful,

Or how you like me,

The way I am.
