Smokescream
I walk through this mist, calling you.
There is no answer at all.
And all I feel is a loss.
Something too great to bear.
I follow your crimson footprint trail.
The tears and pain I can feel.
You called for help so many times.
Something is keeping you away.
I offer a hand to the fog.
I feel you grab and slip.
I look at thesmear you have left on my palm.
It’s sticky red, blood of pain.
Your arms are the maps of your fall.
Driving you deeper into the ground.
Six feet down,with the bones.
You walk a lonely path, all alone.
I stub my toe on your gravestone.
No name, yet I know it is you.
Your open grave is in front,
A knife drives you deep from behind.
The earth fills your mouth,
And the worms get to work
I know I have lost you.
(So lost, I cannot find you).
I watch the black soil fill your grave.
I cannot fight the invisible grave fillers.
Who am I to stop the minions,
That followed your last command?
You clear your face, one last time.
The smoke billows towards me.
It fills my lungs and chokes my eyes.
And all I can hear is your scream.
Your Smokescream.
