Hollywood Bound

An eager young quintet of hopefuls dream
Of how much fame from Hollywood they’d scheme
An actor, famous in the days of yore;
Publicity, he longed of times before.
And so his agent’s heart for him, beat fast.
And she made sure, in films, just men were cast.
And to his daughter, all attention given
Was hers, and she was not at all forgiven.
This girl, her fame would be but not a star,
Directing was the way the name got far.
The daughter of his own, in court, a master;
She was the wealthy, ruthless sort, and faster.
And on our way we met a homeless man,
A drug addict, of Grateful Dead, a fan.

Fall 1995

I can’t take all the credit for this bit of verse. This was done in a group, so there were 5 people that worked together to make this Chaucer-like introduction!
