Note: this is not a story, there isn't supposed to be a plot, this is just a random thingthought up reading stories by other people from the perspective of animals.
The alpha moves closer and takes a small nip at the grey female, the female gives a short yip and backs off from the shaded spot. She knows better than to fight over a sleeping place. As she moves on, the alpha sits down on his haunches and looks over the other wolves. Most of them are lying down, ready to relax before they have to move again later that day.
The alpha knows he has to move his pack out soon, before the deer leave them too far behind for the pack to pick them off one by one for food. The wolves move closer together as the sun grows higher, forming a circle around the young cubs that are too weak to protect themselves from dangerous animals. A mountain lion could easily take down a lone cub, but it would have more trouble than it was worth to try and get past an entire pack.
As the alpha lays down his head to rest a young male wolf with gray fur limps into the den the wolves have settled into, he lifts his left hind leg slightly and puts less weight on it, reminiscing of the fight he had with the black alpha the previous day.
The black alpha lifts his head up once more and a low growl rumbles in his chest. The gray male backs away a little bit and stumbles on his weakened leg. The alpha siezes this chance and attacks the grey male with viciousness only a wolf can muster.
The wolves not involved with this struggle lay where they are, occasionally moving out of the way of the combatants. The grey female stands up and moves closer to get a better view. She bares her fangs slightly, but moves back to where she lay before the grey male arrived.
The young male attempts to fight back, but he is at an immediate disadvantage because of his leg. The alpha bites the young grey male on the leg, making the grey one’s pain worse. As the grey wolf whimpers in pain, the alpha grabs the young wolf by theinjured legand with a quick jerk of the alpha’s head, the young wolf’s leg breaks.
As the gray wolf falls to the ground defeated, The alpha raised his head and howls in triumph. The gray wolf lies on the ground whimpering from the pain of his broken leg and tries to reach the wounds wit his carressing tongue.
With the struggle over, the alpha gives a short bark telling the other wolves the time had come for them to move away from this place. As the other wolves leave the ground, the gray female walks over to the whimpering male and sniffs him. The gives a low growl and proceeds to travel behind the departing wolves. The lone whimpering wolf lies on the ground, waiting fro his leg to heal as much as it can before he must move again.
