I’m headed fast down a dead end road,

riding up and down a broken roller coaster ride.

I get on and off at various hospital stops,

they assign me a caseworker,

tell me I’m functioning at a level twenty out of a hundred,

they tell me next stops residential,

that’s where I am headed.

They say I’m to unstable to live with my parents,

they say I need to much twenty four hour intensive care.

They put me in a school that’s far from college prep,

assign me an IEP,

treat me like I’m seven.

I’m headed down a path I hate,

I try to turn around but the ride attendant says,

sorry kid,

it’s to late.
