Of Bears, Hives and Honey

are you okay?

the words are

stuck in a mire of honey

the sticky awkwardness

dripping from the hive of unsuredness

hanging from the tree of life

rooted in tradition and a closeted existence

the bear of friendship reaches

to swat the hive away

but it never quite succeeds

for though the hive is gone

the bees that made it still remain

and occasionally they sting the bear

and make it cower away

eventually no bear will dare to come near

be it one of frienship or be it a carebear

or so she thinks

so she watches the other girl

whose head is bent down

she watches printed ink smear

and slowly says

"in a few years, you won't remember this anymore".

"Hell", she thinks inside,

"You won't even remember me anymore".

So she lets the honey stick her words

She lets the hive engulf her

and she says nothing

and another bear walks away

howling in pain
